DISABILITY ADVOCATES MEET IN ANNAPOLIS

February 19, 2013- The Arc Central Chesapeake Region will join hundreds of advocates from all across the state of Maryland who will converge on Annapolis in support of policies that enhance services and supports for people with developmental disabilities and their families.

Kate Rollason, Executive Director, says, “We look forward to Developmental Disabilities Day at the Legislature to rally around support for our cause, as well as educate our legislators and community regarding the issues that affect the thousands of Marylanders with developmental and intellectual disabilities and their families.”

A morning session will inform advocates of the current legislative issues impacting people with developmental and intellectual disabilities and their families. A procession will begin at Loews Annapolis Hotel and end at a rally at Lawyer’s Mall before meeting with elected officials.

The Arc Central Chesapeake Region’s (CCR) mission is to promote respect, create opportunities and advocate for equal rights for all people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Arc Central Chesapeake Region provides services and supports throughout the lifespan in Anne Arundel, Talbot, Dorchester, Queen Anne’s, Kent, and Caroline County.
