The following announcement was submitted to Patch by Janet Helferstay.
Growing the Game!
The men’s lacrosse program at Archbishop Spalding is pleased to announce that we will support Fields of Growth as our service project this spring, in an effort to collect new and used lacrosse equipment for the less fortunate.
What is Fields of Growth?
Fields of Growth is a charitable organization with community-based partnerships in Uganda (East Africa) and Costa Rica (Central America). The goal is to establish lacrosse leagues in areas that are less fortunate and could really be helped by the game.
They do this through the help of volunteers in South Africa and Costa Rica who set up leagues there, but they also depend on us to collect donated lacrosse equipment to send to them. You can visit their website for more information.
What is Spalding Lacrosse’s Goal?
All equipment will be collected on Wednesday, April 5, and Saturday, April 7, at a high school tournament involving Archbishop Spalding, Severn School, Annapolis High School, and Severna Park High School.
