The Power of Team Spirit

Just days before the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers met in the Super Bowl, two fans will begin to use their team spirit to help them walk. Alex Jedrowicz, a 7-year-old Ravens fan from Pasadena, and Tyler Lilly, a 9-year-old 49er's fan from Crofton, got fitted with custom AFOs adorned with their teams' logos. Custom AFOs (ankle foot orthoses) are worn to help patients maintain an optimal foot/ankle position.  "Wearing a brace can be challenging and overwhelming, particularly for children," explains their orthotist, Ruth Tindall, from Alliance Orthopedic Labs.  "It's just more fun to wear AFOs when you can show your team spirit."Tindall arranged for the boys to meet and enjoy some friendly team rivalry topped off with football cookies and balloons.  She says, "The boys ordered their AFOs before the divisional playoffs. It's great that their teams made it to the Super Bowl!"Alliance Orthopedic Labs provides orthotic products and services for the youngest to the most senior patients in the Annapolis, Baltimore and Washington, DC region.
