5 Questions with Isabelle Simmons, Montessori International Student

School: Montessori International Children's House in Annapolis
Anne Arundel Patch: What was the winning word you spelled correctly during your school's spelling bee?
Isabelle Simmons: My winning word was "ardent."
Anne Arundel Patch: What do you like about your school?
Isabelle: I love everything about my school! I love all the people, subjects, Montessori materials, and classes like Spanish, Music, and P.E. I enjoy every subject but my favorite would have to be Math, Science, or English.
Anne Arundel Patch: Do you participate in extracurricular activities or sports?
Isabelle: I participate in many extracurricular activities including figure skating, lacrosse, field hockey, piano and guitar lessons, and Girl Scouts.
Anne Arundel Patch: What do you want to do when you grow up?
Isabelle: I would like to become a chef, lawyer, or a general, cardiac, neuro, or thoracic surgeon.
Anne Arundel Patch: What do you like to do for fun?
Isabelle: I like to figure skate, go to the mall and the movies, play outside, play sports, play piano and guitar, write plays, sing, and perform in plays or musicals.
I am very excited that I will be competing against my sister, Olivia Simmons, from Wiley H. Bates Middle School and many others in this year's bee!
Isabelle is one of 32 students set to compete in the 25th annual Anne Arundel County Spelling Bee on Feb. 23. Patch congratulates all of the students on making it to the county competition!
