Annapolis Crime: Stealing Gas From Tank, Burglaries, Assault
The following arrest information was supplied by the Annapolis Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
The Annapolis Police Department (APD) provided the following information on recent incidents in the city:
Theft from Vehicle—Police said someone drilled a hole in a gas tank of a vehicle and removed gas from it while it was parked in the 1000 block of West Street. The incident occurred sometime between 8 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. Wednesday.
Attempted Burglary—Police said an Annapolis man attempted to kick open the door to a home in the 1300 block of Tyler Avenue at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. Officers arrested and charged Dontae Trayvel Surgeon, 18, of the 1300 block of Tyler Avnue, with fourth-degree burglary and malicious destruction of property valued up to $500, according to online court records. According to a report, police said Surgeon and the residents of the unit know each other and that Surgeon believed one of the residents stole property from him.
Auto Theft—Police said someone stole a gold 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora from a parking lot in the 1300 block of Tyler Avenue sometime between 1 p.m. Dec. 20 and 1 p.m. Jan. 2. The car's license plate number is 5EML88.
Burglary—Police said someone stole a Gateway ZX desktop computer, a Wii game console and a DVD player from a home in the 1300 block of Tyler Avenue. The incident happened sometime between 9:45 a.m. and 1 p.m. Monday. Police said someone entered the home through an unlocked front window.
Assault—Police said a man told them three men punched, kicked and hit him in the face with a bat between 2-2:25 a.m. Monday in the 1200 block of Graff Court. The victim required numerous stitches for injuries to his ear. Police said the man knew the other men and charges are pending against them.
Burglary—Police said someone broke a window in the rear door of a home in the 700 block of Bay Ridge Avenue and entered the home sometime between 1-6:30 p.m. Monday. Police said the person stole jewelry and money from a change bowl in the home.
