Annapolis Crime: Man Chases Suspected Thief, Stolen Tires
The following arrest information was supplied by the Annapolis Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
The Annapolis Police Department (APD) provided the following information on recent incidents in the city:
Theft from vehicle—A woman and her fiance returned to her vehicle parked in the Hillman Parking Garage at 9:30 p.m. Monday and said they found a man inside the vehicle. The man ran away and the woman's fiance chased him and eventually caught and detained him until officers arrived.
The vehicle may have been left unlocked and it does not appear as if anything was taken.
Police charged Damien King, 26, of the 200 block of Boxwood Road, with assault, trespassing, rogue and vagabond and resisting arrest. He was being held at the detention center on $25,000 bond as of Wednesday morning.
Theft from vehicle—Someone stole four 16-inch aluminum alloy wheels and Michelin tires from two vehicles parked in the 2000 block of West Street. The thefts occurred sometime between 7:30 p.m. Sunday and 9:30 a.m. Monday.
Theft—Someone stole two bicycles that had been left unsecured on a bike rack in the 1400 block of West Street on Sunday afternoon. The bikes were recovered on Monday in the 1700 block of Forest Drive and returned to the owners.
Theft from vehicle—Someone smashed the passenger side window of a vehicle parked near the intersection of Fifth Street and Chesapeake Avenue between 7:30 and 7:40 p.m. Saturday. The person stole a red patent leather purse from Nordstrom.
