Annapolis Crime: Police Report Three Robberies, Boat Burglary
The Annapolis Police Department provides arrest information but it does not indicate a conviction.
The Annapolis Police Department (APD) reported 90 calls for service and 17 arrests in the last 24 hours. The information below is a roundup of recent incidents supplied by the APD.
Dog Training Materials Taken from Car on Hawkins Lane—City police said someone went inside an unlocked car and took dog training materials, training shoes and a training bag. The incident occurred between 10 p.m. Dec. 7 and 10 a.m. Dec. 8 in the 1300 block of Hawkins Lane.
Burglary on Boat—City police said someone entered a boat and took an Apple MacBook computer. The incident occurred on Dec. 16 between 5 and 7:30 p.m. in the 300 block of Burnside Street.
Burglary from Home on Mills Way—Several items were taken from a home in the 700 block of Mills Way Friday between 2 and 9 p.m. Police said someone entered the home by breaking the window in the back door. Items taken include: a laptop computer, two watches, an Xbox game console with eight games, a buck knife, a black laptop bag and a black book bag, according to police.
Robbery on Clay Street at Bertina Nick Way—City police said a 45-year-old man was robbed on Clay Street at Bertina Nick Way while walking home from work Friday night. According to police, the victim was surrounded by six to eight men, possibly juveniles, who punched him in the face and took his black North Face jacket.
Man Arrested on Robbery, Assault and Theft Charges—A 25-year-old Annapolis man was arrested Saturday night after city police said he got in an argument that became physical with his ex-girlfriend. Albert Terry Green was charged with robbery, assault, theft and destruction of property. According to police, the incident began as an argument and Green reportedly took the woman’s cell phone by force. He is currently being held on $75,000 bond, police said. The incident occurred in the unit block of Pleasant Street between 10:30 and 11:30 p.m.
Robbery on West Washington Street—A 73-year-old woman was robbed at the Timothy House-Timothy Gardens apartments in the unit block of West Washington Street late Saturday evening, city police said. The woman was approached by two female suspects. It was unclear how old they were, police said. One suspect asked for money while the other put the victim in a headlock and took the rest of the money from the victim’s pocket, according to police. The victim broke free and ran away, police said.
Three Men Arrested in Connection with Theft of Coats from Main Street Store—Three men were arrested in connection with the theft of three jackets from the Helly Hansen store on Main Street. According to police, the incident occurred at 1:30 p.m. Sunday. Dontay Irby, 19, of Fort Washington and Keon Wallace, 19, and Darrick Wallace, 19, both of Bowie, were arrested in connection with the incident.
Employees provided police with a description of the car that the suspects used to flee the area and police found the car on Rowe Boulevard. The jackets were inside the car, according to police. The coats were worth about $850 in total, police said.
