Annapolis Towne Centre Event to Benefit Light House Shelter
The food and beverage tasting and fashion show should prove to be a fun way to raise money for the homeless prevention and support center.
Annapolis Towne Centre at Parole merchants are joining together for an event Thursday evening to benefit the Annapolis Light House homeless shelter.
The Taste of the Towne Centre and Fashion Show includes a food/beverage tasting and, well, fashion show from 6 to 8 p.m., according to a release.
The event is sponsored by Friends of the Light House, organized by As Kindred Spirits and hosted by Great Gatherings.
All proceeds benefit the Annapolis Light House.
Tickets may be purchased in advance for $30 or at the door for $35. Bring a nonperishable food item to receive an additional raffle ticket.
“We have partnered with Friends of the Light House because we wanted to be involved in the local community,” Eric Stalzer, district manager of Great Gatherings, said in the release. “What is refreshing about the Light House is that it does more than just solve an immediate need; it helps its residents to become self-sufficient by teaching life skills. The Annapolis Light House offers self-worth and self-reliance along with food and shelter.”
Towne centre restaurants Brio, Paladar, Whole Foods, Chop House, Zoe’s Kitchen, Gordon Biersch, Cadillac Ranch, and Metro Diner will provide food and drinks for the tastings.
And models will show fashions provided by towne centre retailers Brooks Brothers, Lululemon Athletica, Lucy, Poppy and Stella, Eastern Mountain Sports, a la Mode, Coldwater Creek, Charm City Run, As Kindred Spirits, and Talbots.
Hair and make-up for the models will be provided by About Faces, according to the release.
The evening also will include a silent auction and raffle, with items donated by various towne centre merchants. Each guest will receive a gift bag filled with coupons and other fun items.
“This partnership with Annapolis Towne Centre merchants is just the kind of community collaboration that we love to see,” Friends of the Light House president Debra Bird said in the release. “What is remarkable about this event is that the Towne Centre folks knocked on our door wanting to help. Their sense of community spirit is extraordinary.”
Tickets may be purchased online at www.friendslhs.org or at Great Gatherings and As Kindred Spirits.

Huge thanks to all of our wonderful models for their grace, patience, and good humor!
BTW Hair & make-up wer provided by About Faces, Origins, & la belle Nikita of Sharazzi in Mitchelville, thanks guys!
