Bites Nearby: Hot Chocolate
As the weather gets cooler, Patch explores spots for hot cocoa in the area.
This week’s Bites Nearby is more of a “Sips Nearby” as we explore neighborhood cafes serving rich, steaming hot chocolate. The calendar says winter’s still weeks away, but as morning temperatures chill and darkness creeps earlier and earlier each evening, nothing is more warming and comforting than a creamy cup of cocoa.

Who do you think serves the BEST hot chocolate in Annapolis? (And if we left anywhere out, let us know!)

It's not a coffee shop, but some of the very best hot chocolate I've had in Historic Annapolis is at Potato Valley. It's creamy with just the right froth on top. Oops, maybe I should've kept it a sweet secret!

Thanks for the suggestion Amanda! Now I'm curious to try it there. Clarence, it's downtown on State Circle. http://historicannapolis.patch.com/listings/potato-valley-cafe#c

Have not had it in a few years, but Griffins/Federal House used to have some amazing hot chocolate--go figure!

Clarence - Potato Valley is on State Circle on the corner of Cornhill Street. Only open for lunchtime, not dinner. They are delicious!
