Canoe Stolen From Home Near Weems Creek

A person or persons took the unsecured canoe from the homeowner's side yard.

 

A homeowner in the 300 block of Dewey Drive had her canoe stolen out of her yard sometime between Christmas Day and Wednesday afternoon, according to Annapolis police.

Officers responded to the home near Weems Creek around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The woman told police that her canoe, which was stored unsecured in her side yard, was missing.

She told police that she had stored the canoe behind 6-foot tall shrubs on cinder blocks for the past 15 years.

The canoe is red, seats two people in navy blue canvas seats and is 17-feet long. It has the words "Old Town" inscribed on its side in white lettering. Police valued it at approximately $150.
