Car Stolen from Eastport Shopping Center
Police said the car was last seen on Rowe Boulevard.
City police are looking for a person they say stole a car from the 900 block of Chesapeake Avenue Sunday afternoon.
The victim told police he parked his car at the Eastport Shopping Center while he went inside the Eastport Deli to grab a drink at around 2 p.m. When he came back it was gone and the victim called police, according to the police report.
The car, a white 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt with a Maryland license plate, was left running and unlocked, according to police. The vehicle was spotted heading downtown from Compromise Street by Annapolis police officers on bike patrol.
According to the police report, the officers tried to stop the car, but the driver kept going. The officers followed the car but eventually lost it.
The car was last seen heading out of the city on Rowe Boulevard.

You can't call this stolen - dude practically gave it away. Last I checked, leaving your running car unattended was a violation in MD.

Before beating up the victim remember that one person in this story is a thief who stole a car the other is just a thirsty soul who wanted to buy (not steal) a soda.

When I was young most cars were left unlocked, but nowadays anyone old enough to drive should know better than to leave a car unlocked, key in the ignition and engine running. Of course, I don't know the degree of his thirst. If it was a matter of life or death then his actions could be excused.
