Comic-Con Brings Out Super Heroes, Villains and Lots of Their Fans
First local comic book show for Annapolis-based Third Eye Comics, but not the last.
Don't ever let it be said a comic book show is not interesting.
The Elks Lodge in Parole was filled on Sunday with comic book fans of all ages and characters from the pages of those for the first Annapolis Comic-Con, held by Third Eye Comics.
"It's going great. The turn-out is fantastic," said Steve Anderson, owner of the Third Eye Comics, which has locations in Annapolis and Prince Frederick.
Anderson credited the inspiration for the show to an employee at his store.
"Ben (Penrod) pitched the idea," Anderson said. "We are one of the largest comic shops in Maryland and we said, 'Why not?' We just wanted to do something that was smaller, that would complement the Baltimore Comic-Con."
It just seemed to make sense.
"There wasn't a show already here," Penrod said. "The community is crazy about comics. It just seemed like a good idea to everybody together to do it."
So happy with the turnout, Anderson announced to the crowd another show will be coming in the spring at a larger venue (check out the video.)
