Crash Occurs at Rush Hour on Route 50
The three-car accident that occurred on Thursday resulted in one person being seriously injured, according to a fire department official.
An accident snarled traffic during rush hour on U.S. Route 50 westbound on Thursday.
At 5 p.m., an accident involving three cars on Route 50 near Maryland Route 450 stopped traffic while the Anne Arundel County Fire Department worked to free a motorist who was trapped in his vehicle, said Capt. James Rostek.
A man believed to be around 54 years old sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries, Rostek said. The man was taken to John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. The other two drivers were not injured, according to Rostek.
Around 7 p.m., the shoulder and left lane remained closed near the scene of the accident.
