Donation Fund Established for Man Killed On Job

Anyone wishing to donate can visit any branch of M&T Bank, where there is a Santiago Lopez Family Fund.

Residents of the Amberley community have established donation fund the family of the contractor who was killed while removing a tree from their neighborhood after Hurricane Sandy.

Santiago Lopez, 50, died on Wednesday afternoon in what his friends have called a "freak accident" that happened in front of his son. Lopez was well known in the community, and had worked for W.D. Olsen Tree Care, an Annapolis-based tree removal service, for more than 10 years.

Anyone wishing to donate can visit any branch of M&T Bank, where there is a Santiago Lopez Family Fund. The account number for the donation fund is 9860482679.

Donations can also be mailed to:

Santiago Lopez Family Fund
c/o Kim Shaw
1640 Homewood Rd.
Annapolis, MD 21409

The funds will be sent to his family to help cover the costs of his funeral.

Thank you for setting up information for donations to Santiago's family. He was loved by all who came in contact with him. Santiago always came with a smile, and was a kind stewart of our garden. A wonderful member the greater Annapolis community who made a positive contribution us all.

Donating for a good cause is good for both the one who is giving and for those also who are in need and everyone should donate.
