Fashion Show to Benefit Light House
Retailers at Annapolis Towne Centre combine efforts to raise money for new shelter.
Fashionistas and humanitarians take note: There will be a fashion show on Oct. 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cadillac Ranch to benefit the Light House homeless prevention support center.
Nearly all of the fashion retailers in in Annapolis Towne Centre (ATC) at Parole will participate in the event that is being organized by Janet Roessler, who handles events for As Kindred Spirits.
"We have goodies and giveaways from many of our ATC neighbors," stated Roessler. "[Attendees may receive] gift cards and discounts from our restaurants, a Pandora bracelet from Smyth Jewelers, a kayak trip (boat rental, paddles, etc.) from Eastern Mountain Sports, eyewear from MyEyeDr, gift certificates from many of the retailers, and more."
The tickets for the show are $25 in advance and $30 at the door plus a canned food item. Tickets include the fashion show, appetizers and a drink, a welcome bag full of goodies, and entry in the raffle. To buy tickets, stop by or call As Kindred Spirits store at 410-573-9108 or e-mail askindredspirits3@gmail.com for more information. Tickets can also be purchased online here.
At least $15 per ticket will be donated directly to the Light House homeless prevention support center, according to Roessler. The new shelter on Hudson Street will officially open on Oct. 19 to serve people in Anne Arundel County.
"This is a great charity especially during the difficult economic times we live in," stated Roessler. "We tried to make this a very affordable event for that reason, not everyone can pay $100 a ticket or more for a fundraiser!"
The list of participating stores includes Brooks Brothers, Coldwater Creek, J. Jill, Lucy, Lululemon, Poppy and Stella, Talbots and Urban Chic. Hair and makeup will be provided by About Faces and Origins. Metro Diner and Bin 201 will offer items or certificates for the raffle.
