Every summer 7-Eleven stores nationwide celebrate the company's birthday by giving away free Slurpees on July 11, and this year is no exception.

“7-Eleven Day, or free Slurpee Day, gets bigger and more popular every year,” said Joe DePinto, 7-Eleven's president and CEO, in a press release. “This year we expect to give away 7 million Slurpee drinks, more than ever before, beating last year’s offer by 2 million."

According to the release, July 11 marks the 85th birthday for the convenience store retailer, and it's the 45th birthday for its iconic Slurpee drinks.

"But the day is also when we do something special to thank customers for their support and welcome new guests,” DePinto said.

All three Annapolis 7-Eleven locations are participating. They are located at 1527 Forest Dr., 611 Taylor Ave. and 710 Bestgate Rd.
