Get Your Green On for St. Patrick's Day Parade
The parade will take place in downtown Annapolis on March 10; groups can apply now to participate.
Although February is all about red, it's not too soon to start planning to "get your green on" next month for the Annapolis St. Patrick's Day Parade.
Mark your calendars for March 10 at 1 p.m. The parade will proceed through the downtown area, beginning on Amos Garrett Boulelvard onto West Street, around Church Circle, down Main Street, turning before ending at Market House.
According to the application information (see PDF attached to this article), this is a non-city sponsored event and is open to many groups including color guards, floats, marching units, emergency vehicles, and anyone else that wishes to honor the city and the Irish heritage. Participants must submit an application and fee of $100 per group entry by March 6.
For more information, contact parade coordinator John O'Leary at 443-822-5871 or check out the parade's Facebook page.

While I love a good parade, is there anyway we could wait until the current holiday is over before we start gearing up for the next one?

Long overdue for Maryland's capital city. A parade takes many hours of planning, permits, participant involvement and safety. Kudos to John O'leary for his working to share his heritage with Annapolis!-Martin Beans Gardner
