Kent Island Man Carjacked in Annapolis

Police say two men got into a man's car, punched him and attempted to run him over with his own vehicle.

Two men carjacked a Kent Island man while he was waiting for a friend in the 700 block of Newtowne Drive on Wednesday morning, according to Annapolis Police.

The victim, who lives in Chester, told officers that two men approached his Chrysler Sebring around 10 a.m. asking if he would like to "buy something." When he said no, police reported that one of the men opened the passenger door and removed the keys from the ignition.

When car owner reached for his keys, the man in the passenger seat struck him in the face, according to a police report.

Police said the victim got out of his car and ran towards Juliana Circle. The two men then drove after him trying to run him down, and he had to jump a fence to avoid being hit, according to the report.

The subjects then drove away. Police located the Sebring on Crystal Springs Road at about 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
