In order to raise money for the Anne Arundel Medical Center's Pediatric Unit, Ledo Pizza in Annapolis will be selling key tags with coupons during the month of June that are redeemable for four free regular toppings.
The key tag will cost customers $2.50, and Ledo Pizza's Vice President of Marketing Will Robinson said for each one purchased, $2 will go to the hospital.
"Our office is actually located right by Annapolis mall, and everybody here had a child born there or has been to the hospital for one reason or another. So, it’s a cause we really feel close to," Robinson said. "Eventually the plan would be to roll it out nationwide, but we wanted to start here because we all live here and use that hospital."
Regular toppings on a large pizza cost $1.75 each, so savvy customers could get up to $4.50 in free pizza toppings, Robinson said.
The owners of participating Ledo Pizza franchises are donating the toppings, and Chip Noland, the owner of Ledo Pizza on 505 South Cherry Grove, said he was more than happy to help.
"We deliver to the hospital seven days a week," Noland said. "They have three cafeterias that they run to serve patients and employees, and to help alleviate some of the pressure they use food brought by vendors. We're one of their vendors there."
The promotion excludes Ledo's craft toppings, and all coupons must be used by the end of August. Robinson said customers can use the coupons individually or blow them all at once on one, fully loaded pizza.
Participating stores outside of Annapolis include: Crofton, Deale, Edgewater, Hanover, Kent Island, Millersville, Pasadena and Severna Park.
