Local Discounts for Veterans

Area businesses thank current and past members of the military for their service by offering special deals

For those who have served our country, a number of local businesses are offering discounts and free food to honor military veterans and active-duty service members.

While we tried to verify these offers ahead of time, they are all subject to change so please call ahead to confirm they are still valid.

Here are a few of the participants in the Greater Annapolis area:

Applebee's

The Applebee's neighborhood grill located near the Westfield Annapolis mall will be giving away free meals on Veteran's Day. Eligible diners will be able to choose from six entrées on the menu.

Be prepared to show one or more of the following as proof of service: a U.S. Uniform Services Identification Card, U.S. Uniform Services Retired Identification Card, current leave and earnings statement, Veterans Organization Card, a photograph in uniform or wearing a uniform in person. For more information about this offer, visit the Applebee's website.

Chili's

Veterans can eat free at Chili's, located at Festival at Riva shopping center, on Nov. 11 by choosing from a limited menu. Beverages and gratuity aren't included, and eligible diners must show proof of military service. Consult the Chili's website or the PDF attached to this story for more information.

Outback Steakhouse

At Outback Steakhouse, located in Forest Plaza, veterans and active-duty military can enjoy a complimentary Bloomin' Onion appetizer and a beverage on Nov. 11. For details, consult Outback's website.

All Outback customers can support the troops by donating $5 to Operation Homefront by texting "TROOPS" to 90999 through the end of the month.

Home Depot

Both Home Depot locations, in Forest Plaza and on Defense Highway, offer a 10 percent discount to military members and their families (and often to military veterans and retirees). Not just restricted to Veteran's Day, this discount is now an "everyday discount." Note that maximum discount is $200 and is only available in stores, not online.

Sport Clips

If you haven't been to Sport Clips in the Festival at Riva shopping center, now is the time to try this sports-themed salon and get special pricing for hair-care services for veterans. To receive the discount, show your military ID or Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) membership card.
