A 28-year-old woman and her child are safe after they were allegedly threatened at gun point by an Annapolis man on Wednesday.

Annapolis police said that William Ranaldo Brown Jr., 30, of Annapolis, grabbed the woman in the 900 block of Bay Ridge Avenue, pulled out a handgun and told her that she was going with him.

The woman was reportedly able to scream for help and Brown fled. Police located and arrested Brown in 1000 block of Madison Street.

Police said there was no connection between Brown and the woman.

Police charged Brown with attempted kidnapping, attempted armed robbery and second-degree assault. He is held at the Anne Arundel County Detention Center on $200,000 bond.
