More School Zones To Have Speed Cameras
The first speed cameras are up and running with more to come throughout Annapolis.
Drivers are reminded to watch their speeds in school zones during 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays now that the first speed cameras in Annapolis are in effect.
Those caught driving 12 mph or more than the speed limit will be sent a $40 citation in the mail—with only warnings issued for the month of March.
The city has one fixed and two mobile speed enforcement cameras inside vehicles so they can be positioned in different school zones. The areas are marked with signs indicating speed is photo-enforced in those areas.
Patch previously reported the presence of speed cameras near Mills Parole and Germantown elementary schools. The following school zones were also chosen as locations—if they don't already have automated speed enforcement equipment, they will have it this spring:

Speed lights question
The lights at 665 all ways question. The timing on the yellow lights appear to have been shortened. We noticed that when the light turns yellow it immediately turns red. So folks will break. I see more accidents involving rear ending occuring. the light turned yellow as the car in front of me went through I stopped as it immediately turned red. Several of my friends and neighbors noticed it too. Any info?
