Motorboat Hits Bay Bridge Pylon, One Person Hurt
Ten people were on the boat, but just one suffered minor injuries.
One person suffered minor injuries after a motorboat struck a pylon of the Bay Bridge, the Anne Arundel County Fire Department said.
Batallion Chief Steve Thompson, a department spokesman, said ten people were on the boat when it struck the bridge at about 8:45 p.m. Saturday.
One person sustained a minor head injury and was transported to Anne Arundel Medical Center, Thompson said. The other nine passengers were unhurt.
The department's fire boat transported the injured patient and eight other passengers to shore, while one other stayed behind with the boat, Thompson said. Police from the Department of Natural Resources were working to recover the boat.
