UPDATE: SUV Overturns Sending 7 People to Hospital
The accident occurred Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Route 50 and Interstate 97 in Annapolis, according to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department.
UPDATE (7:40 p.m.)—Seven people were transported to area hospitals when an SUV pulling a trailer overturned at the intersection of Route 50 and Route 665 around 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
Route 665 and the Route 50 ramp closed for about an hour after the Ford Expedition carrying seven people overturned, according to Maryland State Police.
One person was flown by helicopter with serious, but not life-threatening injuries to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, said Lt. Cliff Kooser of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department. Another person was transported with serious, but not life-threatening injuries to Shock Trauma by ambulance.
A 17-year-old was flown by helicopter to John Hopkins Pediatric Emergency Center with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
Kooser said the other four people involved in the crash were taken by ambulance to Anne Arundel Medical Center for minor injuries.
