Outdoor Yoga Strikes a Pose on West Street
A group of women organized by Lululemon's general manager is scouting out places and putting together pop-up yoga events around Annapolis.
Fifteen women put on their workout gear and headed to Lemongrass on West Street Thursday night.
They weren't there for steamed dumplings or pad Thai, the women came for an hour-long yoga session in the garden next to the outdoor dining.
Lemongrass Owner Gavin Buckley said the impromptu yoga event was a one-time thing put together by Lululemon's General Manager Kristen Whitaker.
"When it's nice weather I think they are looking for outdoor venues to do little pop-up events for the next month or so," Buckley said.
He thought it was a great addition to the character of West Street on Thursday evening, but the scene had patron Rob Beall wondering whether he'd returned to Annapolis or San Francisco after his vacation.
"Not only is there a restaurant vegetable garden next to the restaurant, but they do yoga next to the outdoor dining on Thursday," Beall said in an email. "The 5 foot painted chick makes me think I came home to the wrong coast."
Beall sent this photo in to Patch. Do you have a great photo from around town? Email it to me at: Anna.Staver@patch.com or upload it yourself to the Pics and Clips Gallery by clicking here.
