Police: Man Causes 4 Accidents, Hits House While Intoxicated
Eric Castronova, 29, was arrested and charged for the incidents.
An Annapolis man was arrested for allegedly causing four motor vehicle accidents and crashing into a house while intoxicated on Friday.
Eric Castronova, 29, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while intoxicated, first- and second-degree assault, four counts of leaving the scene of an accident and multiple traffic citations, according to the release. He was being processed at the department as of 5:30 p.m. Friday.
At around 2 p.m., officers responded to an accident near the intersection of Hilltop Lane and Boxwood Road, according to an Annapolis Police Department news release. When police arrived, the driver of one of the vehicles said the other vehicle, which was described as a green Ford Expedition, had left the scene.
During this investigation, the department received a phone call about an accident at Forest and Gemini drives that also involved the green Expedition, where the driver had again fled the scene, police said.
Calls were later made reporting accidents at Forest Drive and South Cherry Grove, and at Forest Drive and Bywater Road, according to the release. Officers determined the Expedition was involved in these accidents as well.
While all four motor vehicle accidents were being investigated, the police received calls stating that a green Expedition had crashed into a house in the 700 block of Bywater Road. Officers discovered the vehicle, which was unoccupied, at the location. However, bystanders pointed out the driver, who was attempting to run away, according to the release.
