Annapolis police raided a home blocks from Georgetown East Elementary on Monday evening and found more than 400 Ecstasy pills, police spokeswoman Detective Amy Miguez said.

The Annapolis police SWAT and Drug Enforcement Unit executed a search-and-seizure warrant at about 11:40 p.m. on Monday at the unit block of Cypress Road, occupied by Johnelle Downs, 22. 

Once inside, Miguez said officers discovered 432 Ecstasy pills and Diazepam—a prescription medication for anxiety. The total value of the drugs was placed at $8,600, Miguez said.

Downs was charged with drug possession, drug possession with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and drug possession with intent to distribute in a school zone.

The residence is less than 0.1 miles from the elementary school. 

Downs pleaded guilty this May to one count of drug possession with intent to distribute that stemmed from a 2009 arrest, according to Maryland court records. He was sentenced to 60 days at the Anne Arundel County Detention Center.

Miguez said, he was released on bond from the Jennifer Road Detention Center sometime Wednesday morning.
