Police Release Photo of Suspect in Double Shooting

Annapolis police obtained an arrest warrant for Clarence Eugene Johnson III in connection with the shooting of two people in the Robinwood community.

 

Annapolis Police are searching for an Annapolis man in connection with a double shooting inside a home in the Robinwood community on Wednesday evening.

Police said Clarence Eugene Johnson III should be considered "armed and very dangerous."

Investigators believe Clarence Johnson entered a home in the 1400 block of Tyler Avenue shortly before 9 p.m. on Wednesday and shot Joseph Johnson III and Jana Jackson.

Paramedics pronounced Joesph Johnson dead at the scene, and Jackson remains in critical condition at the University of Maryland's Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.

There is no family relationship between the two men, but police said they believe they knew each other prior to the shooting.

Clarence Johnson faces charges of first- and second-degree murder, attempted first- and second-degree murder, two counts of first- and second-degree assault, two counts of reckless endangerment and discharging a firearm. 

Clarence Johnson was convicted of second-degree assault and reckless endangerment in 2011, according to online court records.

Joseph Johnson also has a record. He is a registered sex offender, and was convicted of third-degree sex offense, third-degree burglary and second-degree assault in 2003, according to online court records.

Pray that God have mercy on him,I cant judge him and neither can you,pray for Johnson family that are hurting,pray that Jana Jackson make a speedy recovery!

U can judge him wrong is wrong and right is right! I believe that he will get whats coming I dont think he understand what he put my family through It hurts and for his malice behavior because he feel like hes owed something no one owes you anthing coward your a coward and your actions prove it. I dont feel sorry for him I feel sorry for the families he effected with his cowardly ways
