After refuting repeated attempts over the years to join a collegiate league in an attempt to remain independent, Naval Academy officials are expected to announce plans to join the Big East Conference.
The announcement is supposed to come at 3 p.m., according to a story in The Capital. The Capital story reported that the Big East has been courting Navy for months.
