Purse, Gift Cards Stolen from Unlocked Car

Annapolis police say someone broke into a parked car on Franklin Street.

Someone stole a purse, E-Z Pass and four gift cards worth $300 from an unlocked car parked in the unit block of Franklin Street, according to Annapolis Police.

A woman told police she parked her car in front of her home on Saturday night, but forgot to lock the doors because she was in a hurry. She left her purse in plain view inside the car overnight.

Her husband reportedly discovered the theft on Sunday morning when he spotted some of her personal belongings on the sidewalk near their home.

Police told Patch earlier this month that thefts of opportunity increase during the holiday season, and reminded city residents to always lock their doors.
