Readers' Choice Winner: Blooms Florist

The Edgewater florist trumped the competition to secure the win.

As far as Annapolis area florists go, Blooms Florist is tops—at least, according to Patch readers.

The Edgewater florist defeated five local competitors in the Readers' Choice: Annapolis Area Florists competition.

"Blooms Florist has the charm of a small family owned shop, but the product of a huge corporation!," wrote Patch user Justine Muldoon in a review. "They are not only creative and personal, but also professional."

Blooms is family owned and operated, according to its website.

"We are committed to offering only the finest floral arrangements and gifts, backed by service that is friendly and prompt," the website states. "Because all of our customers are important, our professional staff is dedicated to making your experience a pleasant one. That is why we always go the extra mile to make your floral gift perfect."

Check back on Monday to weigh in on where to go for Mother's Day brunch.

Blooms?! In Edgewater? Joking right?! Terrible service on two ocassions. My baby and I were greeted at the door by a mean little barking dog who may have wanted to attack ...I didn't give him/her a chance and refused to open the door till the two women in the store tended to their animal. I like pets ...however I don't walk upon dogs I don't know unassumingly....esp. w/ my baby in tow. Such poor service ...the ladies never moved...kept talking and ignored the two customers at their door. in todays recession? the customer service was wrong and seemed discriminatory. They finally broke from their convo to come to the store front to shoo the dog to the back ...never opened the door to help me roll the stroller in...never smiled or apologized or even greeted me for that matter...just walked into the back of the store to tend to this convo. I felt wronged but am stubborn.(really wanted to get mom flowers).but chose not to after such poor customer service shown with a side of lack of respect. So I left and shared the story with my mom. She had a negative experience with blooms sending the wrong poor looking flower arrangements. so our
experience does not match the credit being given in this article.
respect. Instead of politely telling the store clerks about themselves

I am sorry that someone had a bad experience. We pride ourselves on good customer service. Jenna is not an attack dog but she sometimes does bark...probably scared by the stroller. Our apologies for this experience. We do cater to our customers and we have fresh flowers coming in daily so we do have fresh product.

Davidsonville United Methodist Church is 100% happy with the beautiful fresh flowers and wonderful customer service we receive each week from Bloom's Florist. Debbie and her staff have serviced our altar flowers every week and every week there are compliments on the beauty of our altar graced by these flowers! Their flowers are also priced very competitively. Thank you, Deibbie, for being in our community!

Congratulations Debbie and Virginia! In addition their fresh flowers, I am delighted with the long-lasting silk flower arrangements that Virginia created for OUTSIDE my home! I love, but can't remember to water, fresh flower baskets and they quickly die. As an alternative, Virginia created three lush, colorful fall/winter and three spring/summer hanging silk flower baskets that are indistinguishable from the real thing and they last two to three seasons before we re-do them. People think they are real until they touch them and see the painted birds or butterflies tucked inside :-)
