The incident occured weeks after James Holmes shot 71 people, killing 12, in a mass shooting at a movie theather in Aurora, CO.
“After the Aurora shooting, I thought about how I might be safer going to this Bow Tie instead of the one at the mall because they're a lot less crowded and have easier access to exit doors,” Douglas Fredrik Holm wrote on Edgewater-Davidsonville's Facebook Page.
Kyle Nolan Tanner, 25, sat down in the front row of a Bow Tie theater and started cursing at the screen and at people, according to Anne Arundel County Police.
Witnesses told police that Tanner left the theater twice, and when he returned for a final time he pointed at people in the audience simulating that he had a gun.
He was aressted and charged with disorderly conduct, reckless endangerment and second-degree assault.
Will this incident affect people's decisions to go to the movies here in Annapolis?
Jessica Stead said on Facebook, "What in the hell. Now u cant even take ur child to a movie because its not safe."
And Ginny Boveington also commented that "If I do go to any theatre, I will be more aware of people and surroundings."
Rochelle Drucker: "The only thing everyone packing guns will do is cause shoot outs. Just what we need."
Sherrie Choporis: "Never think that something can not happen to you ... watch your surroundings while you are enjoying your life! Looks like movie night at home may become more popular."
Margery Hagemeyer Patten: "Sherrie, we know that is true only too well. On the other hand, we cannot barricade ourselves in our homes and never go out. If we are going to live our lives, we are going to have to take chances and go about our business normally."
Ella Rice: "He is lucky no off duty officers were there! Ever since the Colorado shooting, my husband doesn't leave the house unarmed. People are getting more and more nuts."
Allison Missy Kimble: "On a very serious note while there have been many news reports about shooting there is also a large population of those in our community who have severe mental health issue."
