Roaring Planes Monday Evening Over Greater Annapolis Explained

WBAL-TV is reporting that Air Force planes escorted a plane to BWI Thurgood Marshall.

If you were outside or even near a window Monday evening at about 8:30 p.m. you heard the planes.

The roaring engines could be heard for miles and a glimpse of the planes could even be caught through the trees, at least from the Annapolis Neck. The sound and sensation was similar to when the Blue Angels fly low overhead for the Naval Academy graduation.

WBAL-TV reported that the Air Force scrambled fighter jets to escort an aircraft that had flown into restricted air space in Washington, D.C.

I just heard it again--very loud, at 5:41 AM Tuesday. There is something else going on...now if you could please kindly explain the loud rumble and percussive shuddering that happens regularly too I would appreciate it. No one I asked has known what that "whomp--rumble" is--i am assuming ordinance/supersonic testing up at Aberdeen?
