Sammy's Celebrates Grand Re-Opening
The restaurant, formerly known as Squisito, will open on April 23.
A local Italian eatery is re-opening with a new name, look and an updated menu.
Formerly known as Squisito, Sammy's Italian Pizza Kitchen is hosting a grand re-opening on April 23 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., according to a news release.
Sammy's is located at 1007-A Bay Ridge Avenue.
"We’re thrilled about this new venture and hope that people know that it’s the same owner, just a different name," said Samuel Awakian, the restaurant's owner, in the release. "We have the same friendly and attentive staff, new additions to our menu and we’ve decided to do a little remodeling of the restaurant."
Customers who attend the re-opening will receive a free appetizer with the purchase of two entrees and 15 percent off their meal, according to Sammy's Facebook page. In addition, the first 100 customers who mention "Annapolis, MD Facebook" will get a $5 gift card to use that day.

Interesting.. so they company runs Squisito, Dimeo Pizzeria which is opening (is open? I forget) where Philly Flash used to be on West Street, this Sammy's Italian Pizza Kitchen, Carpaccio. Wonder why so many different names/brands. Until the double-up on "pizza centric" places (Sammy's and Dimeo's), they seemed to have different focuses... now I'm a little confused. Still, I love Squisito so I'm sure it'll be great.

Thanks Trevor for the email/ posting. Sammy's is no longer operating under the MONTE group hence the name change to Sammy's. Sammy bought the Squisito Eastport location and has since changed the name. Thanks for the email and sorry about the confusion.
