Second Theft From Annapolis Boat Yard in 24 Hours

Police say a golf cart was stolen from the Bert Jabin Boat Yard sometime between Sunday and Monday.

A golf cart belonging to Annapolis Yacht Sales & Services was stolen from the Bert Jabin Boat Yard sometime between Sunday and Monday morning, according to Annapolis police.

It's the second theft from the boat yard during the same time period—a trailer with about $150,000 worth of boating equipment was also stolen.

The golf cart owner told police that he noticed one of his three golf carts was missing on Monday at about 8 a.m. The owner told police that when the carts are not in use, his employees park them unsecured with the keys in the ignition in front of a service garage to charge the batteries.

The boat yard is surrounded by a chain link fence, but the owner told police he never closes the front gate because boat owners need access to the yard throughout the night.

Police plan to review video surveillance. It not known at this time whether there is a connection between the two thefts.
