South River Federation and Spa Creek Conservancy to the Rescue
Lincoln Drive rain garden receives helping hand from two area environmental groups and their volunteers.

At the end of Lincoln Drive, off of Chinquapin Round Road, is a rain garden. And in that rain garden was a lot of trash. And weeds. And that rain garden wasn't very happy. But no more.
On Tuesday, volunteers from the South River Federation (SRF) and Spa Creek Conservancy lent their hands to clean up the garden, which according to SRF treats runoff from 1.6 acres of impervious surface and cleans 60 percent of estimated rainfall before it reaches Spa Creek.
And that rain garden was very happy. By the way, let us know the book all of this is playing off of.
