Welcome back, Patch Blogger!

Take 5: Andrea Scarano

Each week Patch introduces you to someone new from Greater Annapolis with a round of five questions, helping shed a little more light on our community.

Meet Andrea Scarano: Manager of Baltimore Coffee and Tea on Bestgate Road.

Patch: How did you decide to manage a coffee shop?

Scarano: I didn’t decide, I showed up! I had experience in the coffee industry for five years before working at BCT, and after three and a half years here I took the position.

Patch: What responsibilities do you have with this position?

Scarano: I manage the staff, as well as train, coach and hire new employees. I also handle receipts, invoices, inventory and equipment maintenance. I handle sales and still work in service, and sometimes have to program the register system.

Patch: What’s the oddest part about your job?

Scarano: Seeing customers outside of the shop. They’ll stare at me because they recognize me and know they know me from somewhere, yet can’t put their finger on it.

Patch: When you aren’t working what can we most likely find you doing?

Scarano: When I’m not working I’m spending time with my kids, Sydney and Chase. I ran around with the Cub Scouts, now Boy Scouts, and will soon be helping with the Daises when Sydney enters in the fall.

Patch: If you could have one super power what would it be and why?

Scarano: Hmm…I’d have all of the super powers, why would you just pick one?!
