Temporary Traffic Reversal on Fleet Street Tuesday

Traffic will flow away from Market Space so that an HVAC unit can be lifted on to 26 Market Space.

Traffic will temporarily flow in the opposite direction on Fleet Street on Tuesday morning so workers can install an HVAC until for the Factors Row Restaurant.

The road will reverse its direction from 7-10 a.m. and East and Cornhill streets will be limited to local traffic only, according to a city press release.

The restaurant at 26 Market Space is the brainchild of Eastport resident Bruce Gardner, who has worked to develop Factors Row since 2010. He originally planned to open in the summer of 2011.

Gardner told Patch in September that he anticipated opening during the first week in December.

The liquor license he obtained for the business expired Jan. 3. He's received multiple extensions on the license, which was originally approved in 2011.

The city's Alcoholic Beverage Control Board told Gardner at its October meeting that they would not grant him another extension. If Factors Row wasn't open by Jan. 3, he would need to start the application process all over again.

Gardner was not available for comment.

The building, which was Riordan's Restaurant, has been vacant since 2007.
