Gov. Martin O'Malley celebrated the fifth annual “Buy Local” cookout at the Government House in Annapolis by singing and playing guitar.

He stood in the center of the band playing the guitar and bopping his head to the beat for two songs while guests mingled and sampled food from 16 teams comprised of local producers and chefs.

Singing isn't a new thing for the governor, who plays in his own Celtic rock band called O'Malley's March.

On this Thursday evening, he chose a waterman's song called "Dredging' is My Drudgery" and another tune that I cannot seem to identify. If anyone knows the name of the first song, please leave it in the comments.

The cookout marked the start of Maryland’s “Buy Local Challenge” week, in which Marylanders are challenged to incorporate at least one locally grown, produced or harvested product into their meals each day from Saturday to July 29, according to a press release.
