VIDEO: Littmann Sworn in as Annapolis Alderman
Mayor Josh Cohen administered the oath of office to Jared Littmann at City Council on Monday.
Annapolis' newest alderman was sworn in at the City Council meeting on Monday night.
Mayor Josh Cohen administered the oath of office to Jard Littmann (D-5th Ward), the owner of K&B True Value hardware store, at the start of the meeting.
"It feels wonderful. I feel very honored," Littmann said at the end of the meeting. "I been receiving expressions of support from the public and I've been receiving a lot of phone calls of people who want to have some face time and talk to me, which I've been happy to have."
The Annapolis Democratic Central Committee appointed Littmann to the position in December after Mathew Silverman resigned citing increased obligations at his day job due to a promotion.
Before he took over the hardware store from his in-laws nine years ago, Littmann worked as an associate county attorney for the Montgomery County Attorney's office for four years.
This is his first time serving in an elected office.
