Winter Storm May Affect Region This Weekend
Forecasters are calling for a wintry mix in Anne Arundel County that could include snow on Saturday morning.
Anne Arundel County — and much of the region — could be in for another dose of winter weather this weekend, depending on how an approaching storm shapes up.
The National Weather Service warns that a system moving in from the southeast "will likely impact portions of the Mid-Atlantic Saturday and Saturday night."
"At this stage, rain or snow is possible depending on the storm track," it adds.
The latest forecast for the area calls for light snow starting Saturday morning, then switching over to just rain by early afternoon.
Snow may slip back into the picture Saturday evening as temperatures drop again. Temperatures will be right near the freezing mark, so there snow and rain totals will vary depending on the location.
Though the NWS expects minimal accumulation over the course of the day, AccuWeather puts potential snowfall totals for the Baltimore-Washington corridor in the 1-3 inch range.
Patch will have more information on this storm as it becomes available.

I agree! I hate snow! I don't understand people who say "I hope we get 4 feet!" "Hooray!! I want a blizzard!!" etc...
These people must not have elderly relatives or neighbors or other people who are housebound and for whom it is downright dangerous. What about your disabled neighbor who lives alone and is physically unable to shovel his/her walkway? Should he just have to stay in his house and starve because he can't get to the store? What about the elderly grandma whose family is not nearby and who walks herself to the store for groceries? She can't get there!
Snow is dangerous and causes accidents and people to get hurt.
How can a person say I LOVE SNOW I WANT 3 FEET!
Sounds awfully selfish to me.

I've heard a lot of people say they like snow. I like snow. But I've never heard anyone say they want 3 FEET of snow and I've never heard anyone wish for a blizzard. To call a snow lover selfish seems a bit harsh to me.

I saw these comments today on Justin Berk's Facebook page (he's a weather guy):
"I am hoping for a blizzard how soon can I get one"
"Best weather update ever! I want a blizzard please!!!"
"Can't wait. I love the snow. Hoping for a foot or two." (oops he only wants 1--2 feet, not 3)
"Bring it on! I want a foot or more!" (oh he only wants a foot or more...but he got 5 "likes" hahahha)
Why would a person wish for a dangerous and crippling snowstorm? Snow is pretty---if you are safe in your house with heat, food, etc. But not everyone is...this is what I don't get.

Sorry folks. Snow at the right time and in the right amount is wonderful! Even Blizzards are OK. The problem is that folks here don't know how to deal with it. Rain even is a problem! If you don't like snbow stay home!
