6 Artists - Six Directions at AMM

The Annapolis Maritime Museum presents “6 Artists – Six Directions

November 15, 2012 – January 30, 2013

Reception - November 15th, 5:30 – 7 p.m.

“6 Artists – Six Directions” is an exhibition of the work of six artists influenced by the Chesapeake Bay and surrounding estuaries. The Artists access to the water inspires them and unites the seafaring theme.

6 Artists brings together a group of women from diverse backgrounds in harmonious collaboration in order to realize a unified body of work. All six artists have established themselves through dedication to their craft and have been recognized by the local, regional and national art communities through awards, commendations, and commissions.  The six artists include painters Phyllis Dixon, Patrice Drago, Gail Higginbotham, and Desiree Holmes Scherini and two photographers Frances Borchardt and Carol Donahue,

Exhibiting as a group, the varied work of 6 Artists presents a balanced and cohesive show, each using their own specific medium to capture and represent the theme of the exhibit.  “6 Artists – Six Directions” is a natural theme for the group, as each artist is inspired in their own way by the maritime community that surrounds them.
