Consider This- We've Got the Power

Are you sick of the political advertisements on TV yet? I can’t wait for the election to be over so I can catch up on commercials for fast food, and let’s not forget car
insurance! But, before I play catch up, let’s talk about something important:
VOTING

Did you know that 30% of eligible Americans are not registered to vote? And, in 2008, the voter registration rate of people with disabilities was 3.3% lower than that of people without disabilities. Are you part of that percentage?

People with intellectual and developmental disabilities, their families and others who care about the issues that are important to our community have the power to impact our electoral process. But first they – and you - have to register and vote!

In Maryland, you have until October 16th to register to vote to be eligible to vote
in the Presidential Election.  Until then, I am going to talk to everyone I know about the importance of voting. So, for the next few weeks, consider this, you have the power to make your voice heard on Election Day, why not, in the meantime, help others to find theirs.
