Michigan even has a War Dog Memorial located at Milford and 11 Mile Road in Lyon Twp...the only one that we know of at this time.
You can see the progress we have made since August of 2010 by visiting:

The following reasons are why I am writing about this subject:
I am a devout supporter of
H.RES.740
: Expressing support for the designation of March 13 as "K-9 Veterans
Day", in order to recognize the service and improve the treatment of military
working dogs.

I am asking that you contact your elected officials in Washington and ask that they support Congressman Peters on H.Res 740 and Congressman Jones in passing this legislation on the Military War Dogs.

Want to REALLY support our canine troops? Bring them all home, with all the rest of the troops we are betraying in endless, non-defensive, un-winnable wars.
Leave the world alone. Trade peacefully when it is possible. Do nothing otherwise. Fight when someoone invades us, which they won't dare with all our strength. (The only reason anyone would consider fighting us is because we meddle in their internal affairs.)
Let people who want to risk their capital overseas do so ON THEIR OWN. The "public-risk, private profit" model is criminal when the banks and their crooked government cronies do it. It's also criminal when big businesses do it using the brave American soldier and the strapped American taxpayer as muscle.
Want to roll the dice on big profits overseas? Fine. But leave the rest of us out of it if you lose when some dictator nationalizes the contract you negotiated with the dictator who preceded him. Want to fight? Grab a gun and/or hire some mercenaries. But leave the brave American soldier alone. Including the dogs.
Want to cut your risk? Weigh the cost of cheap labor overseas with the risk that comes with it. You might find it was cheaper to employ some people at home. And you might also find it worth using your resources to tear down the unConstitutional barriers to business here at home, rather than neglecting your own backyard.
And frankly, get rid of all "war dogs." We're supposed to hae a VOLUNTEER army.
