My path to Patch started while I was a student at Kent State University in Ohio. There is a Kent Patch run by Matt Fredmonksy, also a Kent State alum. I freelanced for him until I took an internship this spring with the Huffington Post in Washington, DC. When I arrived at my internship, fate sat me next to John Celock, the 50-state reporter and former editor of Westfield Patch. Part of Celock's job is to pick stories from Patches across the country to aggregate to the Huffington Post website.
