Here's your chance to cast your vote for for this year's Hospice Cup artwork.

Hospice Cup Inc. will be holding an artists reception from 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Maryland Federation of Art's Circle Art Gallery. Wine and light hors d'oeuvers will be served.

The group will announce the artist selection at the reception for the 31st Hospice Cup event poster, according to a release. The voting for the submitted artwork will be held during the reception.

The winning artwork will be the representational image for the Sept. 22 Hospice Cup event and will appear in promotional advertisements, videos, event T-shirts,
and posters.

Hospice Cup has regional exposure with participating hospices representing Washington, DC, Northern Virginia, Anne Arundel County, Montgomery County, and
Prince George’s County, according to the release.

While the chosen image will become the property of the Hospice Cup, the winning artist will receive recognition for the image. The artwork also will be donated to the
2012 Shore Party Auction following the Hospice Cup XXXI race to help raise money for hospice services.

In 2011, Hospice Cup sponsors raised nearly $200,000, and almost $8 million has been raised over the past 30 years. The money helps the hospices provide skilled
compassionate care, comfort and dignity to the terminally ill, their families and friends, regardless of their ability to pay, according to the release.

This year's race is sponsored by RBC Wealth Management, according to the release.
