The Commandant's Combo has become one of the most requested groups the USNA Band offers. Originally created to support official events for the Commandant of Midshipmen, this versatile group is also called upon to perform for traditional Navy functions, including Navy and Marine Corps Balls, command social functions, public concerts, and educational workshops.
Led by Senior Chief Musician Blake Cramer, the five-piece ensemble infuses elements of traditional jazz, New Orleans, Reggae, and Brazilian music into its own arrangements of time-honored jazz classics and popular music. The Combo's varied programming includes music from Leonard Bernstein to John Lennon and Stevie Wonder to Pearl Jam.
