We've assembled a weekly calendar of kid-friendly activities and new places to try out with children. Each week, we'll give you the info on the five best family activities or events for the week.
We know you're busy, so we're happy to do the research and find the best things to do and places to go, both locally and within reasonable driving distance.

- Why: Parents and caregivers are welcome to bring babies (up to age 2) for a fun-filled half hour of stories, songs, rhymes and fingerplays that will stimulate early development.

- Why: Enjoy this storytime as a treat for your child ages 2 to 6 with a combination visit to the neighborhood toy store and a fun storytime.

- Where/When: . Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m.
- Why: This children's theatre production will delight audiences with creative puppetry and other surprises. Written by Roald Dahl, the company is aiming to celebrate this renowned author for the local viewer.
- Price: $15 for adults, $12 for children and seniors
- Where/When: 100 E Bay View Dr., Annapolis, MD. Saturday, 8:30 a.m.
- Why: Get out on the water and enjoy an observation of the new season. Bring your kayak or arrange for a rental for this fabulous trip exploring the waters around Quiet Waters Park along with Harness and Duvall Creeks.

- Why: Start singing and dancing along to the music of Bridgette Michael's. Introduce your little one's to music that will transport you to the islands for awhile and feel yourself rocking along with the beat. Perfect for ages three to eight.
