Mystery Blimp over Annapolis

Did you see it?

It's been a strange string of days in Annapolis—first an earthquake, then a hurricane, wide-spread power outages and now, a blimp.

The Capital recently reported such a blimp sighting over Kent Island, but Wednesday was our chance to see it.

These photos were taken not far from Park Place in Annapolis.

As for who owns the blimp, it's unclear. Some have suggested the Navy.

Here's an article from 2005, which could shed some light on the mystery blimp: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9069787/ns/us_news-security/t/eyes-sky-homeland-security/

What do you think? Have you spotted the mystery blimp around town?

I followed this blimp on Kent Island today and watched it make a low pass and then steep climb over Bay Bridge Airport around 2:30 PM this afternoon!

This blimp belongs to the US Navy, but because it is an old fashion Lightship they have not bothered to put their name on it.
