Opa! Greek Festival Opens

Diners—start your engines.

It's that time of year when all of us lovers of baklava, gyro, pastitsio, spanakopita, loukoumades can rejoice—the Greek Festival has officially opened.

Go ahead and say it—opa!

What does opa mean anyway?

Patch went to the Greek Festival to find out. OK, we really went to eat, but still, we also found the answer. It basically sums up how you'll feel as you enjoy all the food—hooray.

The festival is open through Sunday at the Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church on Riva Road.

For hours and a complete listing of entertainment and events, visit www.annapolisgreekfestival.org.

The guy in the blue apron and headset looks very distinguished. I would buy a dozen gyros from him!
